Overemployment Is Inside Your Company
Right Now.

The post-pandemic remote work shift created the ideal cover for a new class of workforce fraud — and most companies have no way to detect it.

5%
of your remote workforce may be overemployed
McKinsey estimates the OE phenomenon affects up to 5% of the U.S. workforce — the majority of them concentrated in tech, finance, consulting, and knowledge work roles. That's the exact profile of your remote headcount.

$100K+
average second salary drawn per OE employee
OE workers in tech, finance, and software average six-figure salaries. Each one costs you a full compensation package — salary, benefits, equity, and overhead — in exchange for fractional attention.

🔍
It's Almost Invisible
OE workers use mouse-movers, calendar blocking, and meeting overlap tactics to stay undetected. Traditional HR tools and manager check-ins don't catch them. Wells Fargo fired a dozen employees for "simulated keyboard activity" — one of the few high-profile cases to surface.
📊
The Real Cost Is Bigger Than Salary
Beyond the raw salary drain, OE employees deliver split attention, diluted IP ownership, security vulnerabilities, and cultural damage when discovered. Gallup estimates disengaged workers cost U.S. companies $1.9 trillion annually in lost productivity.
Remote Work Isn't Going Away
33% of the U.S. workforce worked remotely in 2024. As return-to-office mandates face pushback and remote hiring remains competitive, the structural conditions enabling OE persist — and the OE community on Reddit alone has over 270,000 members sharing tactics.

Most Companies Have Zero Detection
Without a monitoring strategy, you're flying blind. Cavileo changes that — without the legal risk, employee backlash, or trust destruction of invasive endpoint monitoring software.

Three Steps to
Workforce Clarity.

No software to deploy. No agents on employee machines. No IT project. Cavileo works behind the scenes using public data sources your employees have already published.

The Old Way Backfires.

Endpoint monitoring software — keyloggers, screen recorders, activity trackers — creates more problems than it solves. Here's why Cavileo's approach wins.

Endpoint Monitoring Software
Clearforce, Teramind, ActivTrak & similar
LEGACY
Requires IT deployment on every managed device — a full project
Immediately alienates your best employees, who have other options
Mouse-movers and keyboard simulators defeat it trivially
Legal exposure in California, New York, and EU jurisdictions
Doesn't catch BYOD, personal devices, or contractor arrangements
Creates a culture of surveillance that increases turnover of top talent
Expensive per-seat licensing, often $10–$30/employee/month
Cavileo Intelligence Platform
OSINT-based · Human-reviewed · Non-invasive
CAVILEO
Zero software deployed — no IT involvement, no rollout project
Invisible to employees — your monitoring stays discreet
Defeats mouse-movers by looking at public signals, not device activity
OSINT-based methodology — public data, legally defensible
Works for any employee type: remote, hybrid, BYOD, contractor
No trust erosion — your best people never know it's running
Starting at $0.75/employee/month — a fraction of legacy tools

Built for HR Leaders
Who Ask Hard Questions.

We know your first question: "Is this legal?" The short answer is yes. Here's why.

📡
Public Data Only
Cavileo monitors publicly available information — social media profiles, professional networks, and public-facing digital activity. We never access private messages, device activity, or anything requiring employee consent or credentials.
🔒
Your Employee Data Is Protected
Employee roster data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We maintain full audit logs of every access event. No Cavileo employee can access your records without logging a reason. We are SOC 2 compliant and CCPA/GDPR ready.
⚖️
Legally Defensible Methodology
Our OSINT-based approach avoids the legal landmines of endpoint monitoring. Unlike California-restricted keylogging or EU-prohibited screen capture tools, monitoring public information about your employees is legally sound in all 50 states.
🤝
We Don't Name Names. You Do.
Cavileo delivers risk scores and supporting signals. We never tell you to terminate an employee. How you use the information — a conversation, a performance review, a policy discussion — is entirely up to your HR leadership and legal counsel.
🛡️
No Device Agents. Ever.
We will never ask you to install software on employee computers. This is a core product principle, not just a feature. Invasive monitoring destroys trust with the employees you want to keep — we're built on a completely different foundation.
📋
Full Audit Trail
Every action on the Cavileo platform is logged with a timestamped event code — from risk score updates to analyst reviews to user logins. If you ever need to document your process, every step is already recorded.

Questions We Always Get Asked.

How does Cavileo determine the employee risk score? +
Cavileo combines automated monitoring of public signals with human analyst review. Our proprietary scoring model evaluates patterns across professional networks, social media activity, and other public data sources that correlate with overemployment behavior — things like simultaneous job titles, inconsistent location signals, and activity patterns inconsistent with a single full-time role. Each employee record receives a score from 0–100, where higher scores indicate greater likelihood of overemployment. Scores are reviewed and updated on a regular cycle by trained Cavileo analysts.
Is this legal? Can I do this without telling my employees? +
Monitoring publicly available information about employees is legally permissible in all 50 U.S. states. We don't access private accounts, device activity, or any information that requires consent. That said, many employment attorneys recommend disclosing in your employee handbook that the company monitors public digital activity — a practice that also serves as a deterrent. We recommend you consult your legal counsel, and we're happy to provide methodology documentation to support that conversation.
What happens when we identify a high-risk employee? +
Cavileo provides the intelligence — what you do with it is entirely in your hands. A high-risk score doesn't mean an employee is definitely overemployed. It means they warrant a closer look. Most HR teams start with a direct performance conversation, a policy review meeting, or a closer look at deliverable quality. Some companies update their employment agreements to explicitly prohibit simultaneous full-time employment. Cavileo can help you build the right internal process for your organization. The platform can send alerts, notifying your leadership team of potential concerns. All data is available in the Cavileo platform, and may be exported for confidential internal reporting.
How do I get my employees into the system? +
You can upload a CSV or Excel file with your employee roster, or add employees manually through the portal. The required fields are minimal: name, email, role, and department. We don't need Social Security numbers, salary data, or any sensitive HR data to operate. HRIS integrations with major platforms like Workday, BambooHR, and ADP are on our product roadmap for 2026.
Does Cavileo ever disclose what companies are using the platform? +
Simply put, no. That would break our model and violate our Core Values. We never disclose our customer list to maintain the integrity of our process.
What if we have employees who return to the office full time? +
Cavileo works for any employee type — fully remote, hybrid, or even in-office. While overemployment is most common among fully remote knowledge workers, hybrid employees are increasingly participating in the OE trend. You can include or exclude employee groups based on your needs, and adjust your roster at any time. Remember, employees returning to office settings are still known to keep side gigs running as long as they can.
How long does it take to get results? +
After uploading your roster, initial risk scores are typically available within 30 days, or by the end of your first full billing cycle. Our analyst team and platform agents begins reviewing records immediately after onboarding. The first review cycle produces initial scores; subsequent review cycles refine and update those scores based on new signals. High-priority reviews can be requested for specific employees if there is an immediate concern.
